St Albans Mencap Welcomes Trinity Community Project into Our Family

Posted Tuesday 1st July 2025

We are pleased to announce that, as of 1st July, St Albans & District Mencap has taken over the running of the services previously delivered by the Trinity Community Project.

This exciting development ensures the continuity of vital services and support for the people who rely on them, and secures the future of the project under the care of an experienced and respected local charity.

Trinity Community Project has been a valued part of the local community for nearly 40 years. Like us, their focus has always been on providing person-centred support and fostering meaningful connections within the community. However, due to increasing challenges with fundraising and trustee recruitment, the future of the project was at risk.

By merging with St Albans Mencap, the service will continue without disruption—retaining its staff and day-to-day operations—while gaining the support and stability of our wider organisation. We are proud to build on Trinity’s legacy and to continue offering high-quality support with compassion, respect, and inclusion at the heart of everything we do.

This merger represents a shared commitment to the people we support and a mutual ambition to create a sustainable, resilient future for our community services. We believe this is not just a continuation, but a strengthening of our mission.

Trinity Community Project will continue to be hosted by St Albans URC and we have worked closely with St Albans URC for many years so  we are excited to deepen this relationship as we move forward together. We are also immensely grateful to the volunteers, supporters, and community members who have contributed to the Trinity Community Project over the years—and we look forward to your continued involvement in this next chapter.

If you would like to learn more, volunteer, or get involved, please do get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.
