Trinity Community Project - Future Projects

Following feedback from members, and with the support of the ambitions Board of Trustees, Trinity Community Project is looking to expand its current offering in the following ways.

Day service expansion

We aim to expand the service by running sessions in Hatfield. We have secured facilities at URC Hatfield, 25 St Albans Road East, Hatfield, AL10 0EJ.

While the premises are secured, the space in its current condition is not yet suitable for the delivery of our sessions. To ensure the project can operate safely, effectively, and in a way that reflects our values of inclusion, dignity, and welcome, further investment is essential. Without these improvements, we will be unable to fully utilise the space or provide the high-quality environment our participants need and deserve.

Funding is therefore urgently required to make the environment fit for purpose. The improvements will focus on creating a safe, accessible, and welcoming setting that supports a wide range of needs, including those of children, young people, families, and volunteers. A well-prepared environment is fundamental to the success of the Trinity Community Project, as it directly impacts engagement, wellbeing, and the overall experience of those attending.

The funding we are seeking will be used to:

Trinity Community Project
  • Improve accessibility within the premises, ensuring the space is inclusive and welcoming to all
  • Purchase appropriate furniture and equipment to support structured and safe sessions
  • Create designated activity areas that allow sessions to run smoothly and with dignity
  • Improve the overall look and feel of the space, helping it to feel warm, welcoming, and community-focused rather than temporary or improvised
  • Ensure the premises meet all health, safety, and safeguarding requirements

These improvements are not cosmetic; they are essential to delivering meaningful outcomes. Many of the people who attend Trinity Community Project sessions rely on consistency, familiarity, and a calm, supportive environment. A well-equipped and thoughtfully designed space will help participants feel safe, valued, and able to engage fully in the activities on offer.

This expansion represents an important opportunity to strengthen community provision in Hatfield, but it cannot be achieved without financial support. We are committed to using all funds responsibly and transparently, ensuring that every contribution directly improves the environment and enhances the impact of the sessions delivered there.

By investing in this project, funders will be enabling the Trinity Community Project to grow sustainably, reach more people, and deliver long-lasting benefit to the local community. Your support will help transform an available building into a vibrant, inclusive community space where individuals and families can feel welcomed, supported, and empowered.

Out and about in the community

Alongside the expansion of the Trinity Community Project at Hatfield URC, we are also seeking support to introduce a new initiative focused on taking our work out into the wider community. This initiative recognises that not everyone is able to access or benefit fully from sessions delivered within a fixed venue, and that confidence, independence, and wellbeing are often best developed in real-world settings.

The Out and About in the Community initiative will support participants to engage with local spaces and activities in a structured, supported, and safe way. This may include visits to parks, cafés, shops, leisure facilities, community events, and other local amenities. These activities are designed to help individuals build confidence, develop social and life skills, and feel more connected to the community around them.

For many participants, accessing public spaces can be challenging due to anxiety, sensory sensitivities, communication barriers, or a lack of previous opportunity. By providing consistent support and familiar staff or volunteers, the project will help reduce these barriers and enable participants to take part in everyday community life that many people take for granted.

Funding for this initiative will be used to:

  • Cover transport costs to ensure participants can safely access community locations
  • Pay for staffing and volunteer support to maintain appropriate ratios and safeguarding
  • Provide resources and equipment needed for activities outside the main premises
  • Support entry fees or participation costs where required
  • Ensure activities are planned, risk-assessed, and inclusive

This initiative is not about one-off trips, but about creating regular, meaningful opportunities for participants to practice skills, build independence, and develop confidence in real-life settings. Over time, this will help individuals feel more comfortable navigating their local community and strengthen their sense of belonging.

The Out and About in the Community initiative will complement our venue-based sessions by extending learning and support beyond the walls of our premises.

Together, these strands will allow the Trinity Community Project to offer a more holistic, flexible, and impactful service that meets people where they are and supports them to thrive within their community.
