Great news for SNAP families as Ofsted confirms compliance

Posted Thursday 13th August 2026

We’re pleased to share that SNAP St Albans has successfully completed its latest Ofsted inspection, with Ofsted confirming that our childcare provision is compliant with all the requirements for registration on the Childcare Register.

The inspection took place on 4 August 2026 at our SNAP setting at Watling View School in St Albans. Following the inspection, Ofsted confirmed that we were complying with all the requirements for registration.

What does "compliant" mean?

Some parents may be familiar with Ofsted inspection outcomes such as Outstanding, Good, Requires Improvement or Inadequate. However, SNAP St Albans is registered on the Childcare Register, which has a different inspection and reporting process.

The outcome of this inspection is therefore not a graded judgement. Instead, Ofsted checks whether the childcare provision is meeting the requirements for registration. We are delighted that Ofsted confirmed that SNAP was compliant with all of these requirements.

For families using SNAP, this provides important reassurance that our provision continues to meet the standards required for registration.

We would like to thank our SNAP staff and volunteers for their continued hard work and commitment to providing a safe, supportive and enjoyable environment for the children and young people who attend our clubs.

We’re very pleased to have this positive confirmation from Ofsted and look forward to continuing to support local families through SNAP.
