New year, new challenges
Posted Thursday 8th January 2026
The new year is when lots of us start thinking about new goals. Maybe this is the year you finally sign up for a marathon, a 10k, a long bike ride, a sponsored walk, or another challenge you’ve been meaning to do for ages.
If you are, why not make your challenge even more meaningful by raising money for St Albans Mencap?
By fundraising for us, you’ll be helping to support children, young people, and adults with learning disabilities in our local community. The money you raise helps fund activities and services like
SNAP and the
Trinity Community Project, giving people opportunities to build confidence, make friends, and feel part of their community.

We’ll support you every step of the way
If you choose to fundraise for St Albans Mencap, we’ll be there to support you with fundraising ideas, encouragement, and plenty of appreciation for the effort you’re putting in. You’ll be part of a community of people who believe in inclusion, kindness, and making a real difference locally.
You don’t have to be a seasoned runner or athlete — every challenge counts, whether it’s your first event or your biggest one yet. We’ll support you along the way and be cheering you on from start to finish.
So if you’re planning a New Year challenge, big or small, consider doing it for St Albans Mencap and help make a real difference close to home.
