Trinity Community Project opens its doors in Hatfield

Posted Wednesday 26th August 2026

We are delighted to announce the opening of Trinity Community Project, our new day service for adults with learning disabilities and mental health challenges in Hatfield

Trinity opened its doors for a soft launch on Wednesday 26 August, giving our first member the opportunity to spend the day in the new space, try out some of the activities and get to know the people running the service. It was a quiet beginning, but an important one – and we're delighted that our first member enjoyed the day and will be returning every Wednesday.

Trinity Community Project is based at Christ Church United Reformed Church, 25 St Albans Road East, Hatfield, AL10 0EJ, and currently runs every Wednesday from 9.30am to 2pm.

SNAP Summer Scheme

The service is led by Senior Support Worker Tatiana Metcalf-Reiner, under the supervision of Manager Dean Davis. The aim is to provide a friendly, welcoming place where people can spend time with others, take part in activities, learn new skills and enjoy themselves in a supportive environment.

There will be a range of activities on offer, including art, ceramics, cookery and dance, as well as a lunch club. Most importantly, we want the people who attend to have a say in what happens at Trinity and to have the opportunity to explore their own interests.

Looking to the future

The Wednesday service is just the beginning. As Trinity develops, we hope to open on additional days and introduce special-interest sessions, including keep fit and cooking.

We're particularly keen to hear from people who might benefit from attending Trinity. If you, a family member or someone you support would like to find out more, please contact Dean Davis to discuss the service and whether it could be right for you.

We're also looking for volunteers to help with activities and make Trinity an even more welcoming and enjoyable place. You don't need to be an expert – if you have an interest, a skill you'd like to share, or simply some time to give, we'd love to hear from you.

There are also plenty of ways to support Trinity without becoming a volunteer. We're looking for donations of materials and items for activities, as well as things that could help us improve and develop the new space.

The project may have started with just one person walking through the door, but we're excited about what Trinity can become. We hope that, with the support of local families, volunteers, businesses and the wider community, it will grow into a welcoming place where more people can make friends, try new things and enjoy their Wednesdays.
