Our Mission
Childrens Services
At SNAP (Special Needs Activities and Play), we aim to provide stimulating play opportunities and good quality childcare, tailored to meet the needs of children and young adults with special needs.
We aim to provide parents/carers with affordable respite care from well trained and experienced staff.
Our Children's service runs for children and young adults, 5-19 years of age.
Adult Services
Our Adult services provide day care cased on supporting people at home, living independently wherever possible and as full participants in the community. The service is there, where and when it is needed for residents living in or local to St Albans, with a disability. The services provide a wide range of activities sparking all interests as raised by the clients.
“I am grateful that St Albans Mencap provide the SNAP program during holidays and some Saturdays. It gives my son somewhere else to go besides being at home and has access to changing facilities, sensory room, creative activities and shelter. We appreciate your efforts and hope funding continues to provide this valuable service.”

“The difference SNAP has made to us as a family is immense. I really don't know where we would be without this community of people. The staff are an amazing strength to us, Sandra is always happy there and loves the continued routine she gets. The pressure it takes off us so we can spent time with our other daughter is irreplaceable.”

“It is great for my daughter to have some social, action packed, screen free time with some different people and people her own age - so she is not stuck with boring old mum for the whole long summer holiday!!”
