Welcome to St Albans Mencap
The home of SNAP & Trinity Community Project

Our Mission
Everyone has hopes, dreams and ambitions, for some of us it is more difficult to turn them into reality.
At St Albans Mencap we believe everyone is unique and deserves the chance to reach out and create their own future.
At SNAP (Special Needs Activities and Play), we aim to provide stimulating play opportunities and good quality childcare, tailored to meet the needs of children and young adults with special needs.
We aim to provide parents/carers with affordable respite care from well trained and experienced staff.
Our Children's service runs for children and young adults, 5-19 years of age.
Our Adult services include our flagship Trinity Community Project. We also provide day care based on supporting people at home, living independently wherever possible and as full participants in the community. The service is there, where and when it is needed for residents living in or local to St Albans, with a disability. The services provide a wide range of activities sparking all interests as raised by the clients.
What people say about St Albans Mencap and our work
“I am grateful that St Albans Mencap provide the SNAP program during holidays and some Saturdays. It gives my son somewhere else to go besides being at home and has access to changing facilities, sensory room, creative activities and shelter. We appreciate your efforts and hope funding continues to provide this valuable service.”
"Everything makes me happy at Trinity - it is the highlight of my week."
“The difference SNAP has made to us as a family is immense. I really don't know where we would be without this community of people. The staff are an amazing strength to us, Sandra is always happy there and loves the continued routine she gets. The pressure it takes off us so we can spent time with our other daughter is irreplaceable.”
"My brother would just sit at home without Trinity. Here, he feels valued and included."
“SNAP is an absolute lifesaver for our family. It’s so beneficial for the whole family. I cannot put into words how much it means to me as a mother to see how happy my child is when I tell him he’s going to SNAP.”
